Moultonborough, has the most shorefront and the lowest tax rate on Lake Winnipesaukee, which makes it one of the most desirable places to own waterfront year after year! Moultonborough Neck forms a peninsula between Moultonborough Bay and Center Harbor. Connected to Moultonborough Neck by a bridge is Long Island, the largest island in Lake Winnipesaukee. Also located completely within Moultonborough is Lake Kanasatka offering calm waters away from the big lake.
From the top of Red Hill or Mount Shaw, the highest point in Moultonborough, there are impressive views of the Ossipee Mountains and areas lakes.
Tourism has been and still continues to be the main industry of the town. One of the countries oldest stores is still operating in the center of town. A popular tourist attraction is the “Castle in the Clouds”, an estate built aside the Ossipee Mountains, boasting fantastic views of Lake Winnipesaukee.

The town has a well supported and maintained infrastructure, with recently built or updated public safety building, town hall and library.
